My name is Kevin Fischetto, and I'm an incoming student veteran in the Harvard College class of 2026.
I was adopted from South Korea when I was twelve and grew up in a small town outside New York City. Driven by the allure of challenge and the desire to make a difference in the world, I enlisted in the Air Force after high school. It was a challenging but rewarding experience, and I will always be grateful for the bonds I formed with my teammates.
I decided to apply to Harvard after watching a lecture series called Justice by Harvard’s own Michael Sandel. In the lecture, Professor Sandel analyzes a series of complex moral dilemmas through the lens of philosophy. In studying his lectures, I discovered nuances of morality previously unknown to me. I wanted to continue this intellectual journey by studying in person at Harvard, where I can grow as a person by challenging myself to reflect and learn from the different perspectives of my peers and professors.
I will study philosophy and economics with the intention of exploring professional
opportunities in finance or consulting. Entering with an open mind, I'm excited to start the next chapter of my life at Harvard and to share this journey with those around me.”
